Administrative Support
Administrative Support
Assist our administrative staff with filing, photocopying, answering telephones, or serving as a receptionist.

Publicity
Write and distribute news releases to newspapers, television, radio, and other media.

Information Technology
We believe in using technology as a tool for accomplishing our mission. Our new facilities are being designed to handle the ever-growing technology needs of our staff and teams. There are computers (both Mac & PC platforms), servers, and networking devices that require monitoring, maintenance and updating.

Worship Bulletin Assembly
Our weekly worship bulletin not only helps our members and guests as they worship God. It is a key means of sharing information about people and events in the life of our congregation. Each Friday morning at 9:00am this team folds and assembles our weekly worship bulletin.

Children's Ministry
Classroom Teacher
Prepare and present the lesson from the curriculum provided, with loving, personal attention to students.

Classroom Assistant
Help the teacher with presenting the lesson, caring for students, and classroom management.

Worship Leaders
Lead children in their worship in Junior Church as vocalists or instrumentalists.

Drama Team
Write, direct, or act in Junior Church or Vacation Bible School skits that reinforce the important biblical themes and practical virtues the children are learning about in their classes.

Vacation Bible School
Oversee crafts, lead music, serve on the drama team, teach a class, prepare and serve snacks, or help oversee the program by serving on the VBS Planning Team.

Special Note
For the safety of our children, all Kid’s Walk volunteers must be members of Simi Valley Presbyterian Church for at least six months and must go through a screening process that includes a written application with personal references, a criminal background check, and an interview with our Children’s Ministry Director.

Caregiving, Encouragement, and Prayer
Cheer Team
Our Cheer Team prays for, sends greeting cards to, visits, and prepares and gives personalized gift baskets to people in need of encouragement or support.

Congregational Care Team
Our Congregational Care Team prays for, phones, and visits members who are homebound, hospitalized, or otherwise in need of loving support and encouragement.

Prayer Team
In addition to praying for our congregation, community, and world, the Prayer Team exists to motivate and involve the entire congregation in prayer through prayer walks, prayer vigils, concerts of prayer, and other events.

Share the Care
Our Share the Care team is made up of members, attenders, and friends who are interested in cooking meals, offering rides, doing light housework, and helping people in need in simple, practical ways.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who have been carefully selected, having demonstrated spiritual gifts for care-giving. Each has received at last 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual support to people who are hurting.

Community Outreach and Service
ACTION Christmas Shoppe
ACTION is a Christian outreach ministry in Ventura County, facilitating service projects and opportunities with churches and other agencies to reach those most in need. The Christmas Shoppe brings together volunteers from area churches and community to serve local low income families in providing toys for Christmas.

ACTION “Taking it to the Streets” Service Weekend
Area Christians Taking Initiative on Needs presents a weekend of serving our community sharing Jesus’ love with our hands, sweat, and actions with those in need.

Cards for Soldiers
This group collects store bought and handmade unsigned cards with envelopes and sends them to the troops overseas for the service personnel to send home to their loved ones.

Casa Pacifica Blanket Collection
Casa Pacifica, located in Camarillo, serves abused, neglected, and severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. They offer residential treatment, emergency shelter, health care, interventions and much more. Depending on availability, each child that goes through Casa Pacifica receives his or her own special blanket. The blankets may be knitted, crocheted, sewn, or purchased.

Christian Medical/ Dental Association Ensenada Mission Trip
Join a small mission team in this annual trip to Ensenada to reach people in great need with the love of Christ and the medical treatment they so desperately need. Anyone with a caring heart has something to offer: medical, assisting, translating, child care, hair cutting, and just holding a hand.

Food and Clothing Drives
Miscellaneous collections are held through out the year to support organizations such as Care and Share, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Samaritan Center, and Sarah’s House.

For the Troops
Collect items, package items, and send care packages to our troops over seas. They also want your contact information of loved ones serving in the military to send packages to.

Habitat for Humanity
As a group we provide lunch for the volunteers working on the houses on Saturday’s. As individuals, you have the opportunity to help build houses with people in need.

Impact Mission Trips
IMPACT (International Mission Project and Cross Cultural Training) is a project of the Santa Barbara Presbytery, sending both youth (16 and older) and adults on summer trips which range from two to four weeks. Participants go on these cross cultural trips to learn the perspectives of another culture in the developing world, to live and work alongside new friends, and to exchange stories and experiences of the Lord Jesus Christ. Impact emphasizes working, learning and sharing in relationships.

MacArthur Park Outreach
An ACTION sponsored church service and dinner for the low income in this Los Angeles Park. Opportunities include donating clothes, food, drinks, bibles, and serving at the park.

PADS
Public Action to Deliver Shelter is a winter shelter program for the homeless in Simi Valley. The opportunities include staying over night and preparing and serving breakfast in the morning.

Rebuilding Together
Rebuilding Together is a network of nearly 225 affiliates across the United States. They bring volunteers together to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners. We partner with Countrywide and others in our community to provide home repairs, modifications, and clean-ups for those who are in need.

Samaritan Center
Simi Valley Presbyterian Church provides dinner for the homeless and near homeless in Simi Valley the fourth Thursday of every month at the Samaritan Center. Opportunities include providing food, drinks, paper goods, and serving the meal.

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child
Prior to Christmas, join others in filling a shoe box with items for a child in a third world country.

Simi Valley Presbyterian Church CHEER Team
The team provides cheer in the form of gifts, cards, and visits for those who may need a lift and be reminded that God loves them. Opportunities include making craft items, donating items for gift baskets or other special items, and making deliveries.

Facilities
Buildings and Ground Team
The appearance of our campus and facilities communicates how much we care about God and others. Use your skills to help us maintain the interior and exterior of our campus and facilities in areas such as painting, drywall, electrical, plumbing, roofing, general carpentry and repairs.

Mowing Team
Enjoy God's creation from the comfort of a riding mower as you beautify our campus lawn.

First Impressions
Parking Ministry
Assist our members and guests as they arrive, help them find a convenient parking spot, and assist them as they leave the campus.

Greeters
Greet our guests and members and help them feel welcomed as they arrive on campus for worship services.

Ushers
Be available for guests and members during our worship services to help them find a seat, to receive their tithes and offerings, and to address any distractions or other issues that might arise during worship.

Welcome Center
Assist guests and members before, during and after our worship services and/or special events with information, materials, and directions.

Coffee/ Refreshments
Help set-up or take down and serve refreshments during our weekend services and at special events.

Small Groups
Small Group Host
Small Group hosts are asked to do four simple things:
  • Have a heart for others
  • Open their homes
  • Serve coffee and/or simple refreshments
  • Turn on a DVD or VCR
Small Group Ministry Team
Help oversee our small group ministry program as we encourage participation by our members and attenders in small groups, catalog our small group locations and meeting times, resource our small groups with curricula, and offer ongoing encouragement and training to our small group hosts.

Worship Arts and Technology
Audio Outreach
Record, produce, and duplicate CDs of our weekend messages.

Audio Technician
Assist in operating the various sound systems throughout our facilities during worship, concerts, special events, and weddings etc.

Lighting Technician
Run the lighting system during worship, concerts, special events, and weddings etc.

Text/Graphics Presentation Specialist
Prepare and run
MediaShout presentation software during worship services.

Video Camera Operator
Run the camera during our weekend worship services, some experience required.

Worship Design and Decoration
Design and decorate our worship center for special services, message emphases, and seasonal celebrations.

Worship Team
Instrumentalists and vocalists who understand that their primary responsibility is not performance but to help lead the congregation into the presence of God
