Small Groups at Simi Valley Presbyterian Church
What is a Small Group?
The Apostle Paul says in Acts 20.20, "I have taught you publicly and from house to house." This was the pattern of the first century church, to meet in large group gatherings and in small group fellowships. Each fulfilled a purpose the other could not. At Simi Valley Presbyterian Church we share this Acts 20.20 vision.

Why Should I Join a Small Group?
Small groups are a place for you to get connected as well as be supported in times of crisis, change, and stress. Small groups offer an ideal context to build relationships with others. Small groups are an opportunity for you to understand and apply biblical truths to your life. Small groups are where "outsiders" become "insiders," the unconnected get connected, the impersonal becomes personal, and "the church" becomes "my church."

What Happens at a Small Group Meeting?
Most of our small groups feature refreshments, a time of study (either Bible study or a faith-related book related), and prayer. In a small group, you can ask questions, participate in discussions, and listen to and share insights and experiences.

How Will I Know Which Group is Best for Me?
Visit our Find a Group page and fill out the simple form letting us know the type of group you'd like to be in and what time you are available to meet. Our Small Group Team will get back to you with some possibilities.

What If I Don't "Mesh" With a Group?"
We want you to feel comfortable in your small group. If a particular group isn't a good match, feel free to attend another. You may even want to host a small group yourself. All it takes to be a HOST is…
  • Have a heart for people,
  • Open your home to guests,
  • Serve some coffee or light refreshments, and
  • Turn on your DVD (for video based studies).
