Our pastors, staff and leaders are committed to the biblical mandate "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up..." (Ephesians 4.12)
We believe that we have been called to support, encourage and coordinate the work of the hundreds of members and friends who are actively engaged in ministry and mission in and through our congregation.
Simi Valley Presbyterian Church launched Mission Possible with the desire to demonstrate and extend God's grace and love to the world beyond our walls. An outgrowth of our congregation's experience with Forty Days of Community, Mission Possible sponsored its first community outreach and service events in April, 2005 with over 500 volunteers serving over 30 non-profit agencies. The success of these inaugural and subsequent outreach efforts have confirmed both the great need in our community and our members' eager willingness to serve.
Among our many opportunities to serve God by serving others are:
- ACTION Christmas Shoppe
- ACTION Taking It To the Streets Service Weekend
- Cards for Soldiers
- Casa Pacifica Blanket Collection
- Christian Medical/Dental Association Ensenada Mission Trip
- Food and Clothing Drives
- For the Troops
- Habitat for Humanity
- IMPACT Mission Trips
- MacArthur Park Outreach
- PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)
- Rebuilding Together
- Samaritan Center
- Samaritan's Purse
