Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who have been carefully selected, having demonstrated spiritual gifts for care-giving. Each has received at last 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual support to people who are hurting. In addition, they have made a commitment to continuing growth as caregivers who are compassionate, full of faith, skilled, trust-worthy, and Christ-centered. Their role is to be a spiritual friend who listens to, encourages, and prays for those who receive their care.
Stephen Ministry at Simi Valley Presbyterian Church equips members of our congregation to provide confidential, one-to-one care to people who are experiencing a life crisis or challenge in their lives.
